CARNAVAL DEL PUEBLO
The biggest Latin-American event in Europe

Main Objective:
CdP’s objective is to build a diverse and multicultural free event in London in which audiences of all ages and ethnicities enjoy
with their family and friends, the best of Latin American Culture in only one day.

The programme
The Carnaval del Pueblo (CdP) event is a festival of wonderful and vibrant colours of Latin American culture. This festival is a diverse and multicultural event and has a history of attracting international stars from amongst the 19 Latin American countries, Europe and London who perform in four different stages.

The Audience
According to Metropolitan Police and Southwark Council authorities, the event attendance reached 130,000 people in 2007. The event attracts Londoners of all communities, Latin people and lovers of this region. It ranges people from all ages, mainly coming with their family or friends.

Event promotion
The promotion includes:
- Television coverage on BBC, ITV y Sky News.
- Radio coverage on BBC Radio, GLR, Capital FM, Heart FM, LBC, TIME FM,
Parisian Radio and all Latin Radio
programmes in London.
- Written media coverage in newspapers and magazines: The Guardian, Evening Standard, The Independent, Southwark Life Magazine, Metro newspaper, South London Press, East London University newsletters and Noticias Latin America amongst others.
- Online: through BBC Online, Visit London,
Fly Europe, IC London and others.
- Promotion through websites and PR of CdP, Greater London Authority and Southwark Council.
- Promotion in main tourism places: Hotels, touristic guides and other touristic media in London in partnership with Tourism Development.
- Leaflets and posters: distributed around London, at South London tube stations, and at most of the London festivals before CdP. Displayed in businesses and community organisations and strategic points on London’s main roads.
- Lampposts: lining the float procession route.
- Stall villages: 120 stalls of authentic Latin American and wider community food, drinks, arts, crafts and publicity.

Sponsorship opportunity 2008 or 2009:
The success of the CdP over the past years
has resulted in a major opportunity to expand the series into a high-profile festival ‘brand’ and in a reformulation to allow greater marketing, sponsorship and programming opportunities.
CdP offers to sponsors the opportunity to be promoted during London’s most important and largest Latin American event in Europe.
CdP offers different communication supports depending on the objectives of each sponsor, such as brand exposure and corporate image enhancement, between others.
